At mile marker 297.4, the speed limit increases to 70 mph. In July of 2014, Pennsylvania decided to increase the speed limit from 65 mph to 70 mph on two stretches of Interstate highway in the state, one of them being Interstate 76 (PA Turnpike) from the Morgantown interchange to the Blue Mountain interchage (Exit 201). Another stretch of Interstate which saw the same increase in speed was Interstate 80 from DuBois to Centre County.
