This sign warns of the drawbridge ahead, which is the William A. Stickel Memorial Bridge over the Passaic River. When the lights on this sign are flashing, the drawbridge is raised. My guess is that you would know well before this point if the drawbridge was raised, since traffic would be backed up for several miles.  (Photo taken 8/10/15).
